Secure document delivery - Case Study
You need to get a sensitive contract to your client in Hong Kong for review. The normal process may be to phone her PA and arrange a time to send the fax. The fax is confidential and needs to be collected personally and not left lying in an office fax tray.

Unfortunately it is now late on Friday afternoon, and there is now no way to send the document across until 4pm Monday Hong Kong time. With PROJECTFUSION, you can simply upload the document, and the system will tell your client via an automatic email that a document is ready for review.

This allows her to access the document over the weekend, and have time to brief in the changes for Monday morning.

Several years ago, when a large London law firm was looking into alternative ways of managing datarooms for mergers and acquisitions, they contacted PROJECTFUSION. Their standard process involved setting up physical datarooms, often in more than one location, which allowed bidders to go through confidential paper documentation in person. Bidders would travel to the physical location, enter the secure room, and go through volumes of paper documents which could not be removed from the room or copied in any way.

Due to the time and money involved in setting up physical datarooms (travel, hotels, security etc), the law firm started to look at alternative ways of carrying out due diligence.

PROJECTFUSION offered a way of carrying out due diligence securely online within a virtual dataroom.

The paper documentation was scanned and converted into electronic files then uploaded to a secure online environment (PROJECTFUSION dataroom). Specified bidders where then allowed access the information for a predetermined amount of time - from a location of their choosing. Furthermore, the Secure View function prevented users from being able to print, download, copy or record the information in any way.
