When deals are moving fast, Q&A needs to flow smoothly, without creating risk.

That’s why we’ve launched a smarter, safer way to manage answers in your data room: introducing the Answer Drafter role, now live in Projectfusion.

Whether you’re running a complex M&A transaction, a legal review, or a sensitive compliance process, our new Q&A workflow gives you full control over who can draft, approve, and publish answers.

What’s new: Answer Drafter Role

This role adds a layer of control between drafting and publishing Q&A responses. It’s built for teams who want to collaborate without chaos.

Answer Drafters can see and draft responses to incoming questions.

They can’t:

  • Publish answers
  • Submit new questions
  • Access or change Q&A settings

Perfect for:

  • Clients who need to prepare answers, but shouldn’t publish
  • Juniors creating drafts for senior sign-off
  • Sensitive legal or financial deals with strict controls

Custom approval settings for Q&A publishing

Admins can now control how many approvals are needed before an answer goes live:

For example, with 2 admins:

  • 100% approval: All Q&A admins must approve
  • 50% approval: Any one admin can approve
  • 0% approval: Drafts from Drafters publish automatically

This level of flexibility is unique to Projectfusion and helps teams move faster without losing control.

Designed for high-stakes deals

This new workflow was built with input from M&A advisors, legal teams, and corporate finance professionals. It’s especially useful in:

  • M&A data rooms
  • Legal document review
  • Corporate transactions

Easier navigation, cleaner interface

We’ve also improved the Q&A interface with:

  • New filter groups: Open with Replies, Answered, Approve
  • Fresh icons and a cleaner colour palette
  • Subtle UI upgrades as we move toward a full redesign

These updates make it easier to track progress and stay organised, especially in deals with lots of moving parts.

Still in beta, already saving time

The feature is currently in beta, but already helping teams stay compliant, avoid publishing mishaps, and streamline Q&A in fast-paced deals.
